How often is the whois database updated?+
Every day. New whois data for domains registered in the previous 24 hours is uploaded to your FTP account daily, with no manual request needed.
How do I download the whois database?+
After you subscribe you receive an FTP account instantly. You can pull files over FTP with any client, or use the web access panel at data.getwhoisdata.com.
Is there a download limit?+
No. Unlike most providers we do not restrict the number of downloads or records. You get full access to the database for the length of your subscription.
What format is the data delivered in?+
Comma-separated files, zipped per day and per TLD, with an all-in-one file that merges every TLD. Country-filtered plans add one file per registrant country.
Are whois privacy / proxy records included?+
No. Records protected by a whois guard or whois privacy proxy are removed, so you only pay for records that contain usable registrant details.
Can I buy data for a single country?+
Yes. The historic whois database page lists a one-time price for each of 285 countries, and the country-filtered subscription delivers daily country splits.
